During the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the People's Republic of China with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," a ceremony was held to sign 30 documents totaling $16.54 billion.
Agreements on investment cooperation were signed by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Qazaqstan Investment Corporation" JSC, and China Huadian Overseas Investment. The Chinese company plans to implement a project for the construction of power plants with capacities of 200 and 600 MW in different regions of the country. The estimated cost of the first phase of the project is $200 million.
In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC, and China National Petroleum Corporation. According to the memorandum, the implementation of a project in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) is planned.
Furthermore, an agreement of cooperation was signed between "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC, China Power International Holding (CPIH), and SANY Renewable Energy Co Ltd. Within the framework of the agreement, two projects are planned: the construction of a 1 GW wind power station and the construction of a factory for the production of components for wind energy, including blades, nacelles, and towers in Kazakhstan, with a total cost of $100 million.
"Qazaqstan Investment Corporation" JSC and BGI Group have agreed on the basic terms of QIC's participation in the Forebright Life Science Technology Fund. The fund being created will focus on financing innovative projects in various sectors of the economy, including healthcare, agriculture, and other areas related to life sciences. The agreement provides for investments in the amount of $200 million.
"Primus Capital" and Sinoma Cement Co have signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a cement plant in the Baiganin District of the Aktobe Region. The total investment volume in the project is $150 million.
"Samruk-Kazyna" JSC and China Power International Holding have signed an agreement for the implementation of a 1 GW wind power station construction project in the Zhambyl Region. It is planned that the volume of investments may exceed $1 billion.
In turn, "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC and "GC Port Lianyungang" LLC have agreed to jointly enhance the efficiency of transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor.
Additionally, agreements were signed in the fields of oil and gas processing, healthcare, education, transportation, geological exploration, logistics, and the financial sector.
The signed agreements are a vivid testament to the strengthening and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors of the economy, opening up new prospects for development in the field of innovation, technological exchange, and education.
