On December 8th this year, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Chinese company “China Forestry Carbon Ecological Technology Co., Ltd.” signed a cooperation agreement, Kazakh Invest's press service reported.
The document provides for investments, exchange of experience, and scientific and technical information within the framework of a joint project to achieve carbon neutrality and develop Kazakhstani carbon sink assets.
This work is being carried out with the assistance of JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” as part of implementing the Strategy for achieving carbon neutrality of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2060.
It should be noted that “China Forestry Carbon Ecological Technology Co., Ltd.” is the only centrally controlled enterprise in the forest industry and the largest carbon sequestration enterprise in China. It includes 224 subsidiaries around the world. The company’s main activities are carbon sequestration and creating national forest reserves.
