Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakayev held a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Kazakhstan, Zulkifli Baharudin.
The parties highly valued the outcomes of the state visit of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Singapore in May of this year and agreed to continue implementing the agreements reached during the visit.
“Singapore remains one of Kazakhstan’s key partners in Southeast Asia. Kazakhstan is focused on further strengthening trade and economic ties with Singapore. Last year, the volume of bilateral trade amounted to 1.8 billion US dollars, and we are confident that we can increase this figure by improving the quality of mutual trade,” noted Bakayev.
The Deputy Minister paid special attention to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Singapore, covering key areas such as trade and economic, investment and transport-logistics partnerships.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on current global and regional issues and discussed collaboration within multilateral frameworks.
The Singaporean diplomat was awarded a certificate of appreciation from Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu for his significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
