At the meeting of the Headquarters to support economic growth under the chairmanship of Nurlan Baibazarov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy, considered the indicators of development of sectors of the economy at the end of the first half of the year.
Stable growth was achieved in the information and communication industry (8.7%), construction (8.6%), and transport (7.3%).
It should be noted that in comparison with the results of the first five months of this year there is an improvement in the growth indicators in agriculture, construction and trade. At the same time, due to the reduction of oil production under OPEC+ commitments and ongoing reconstruction works after the flood period, a number of industries demonstrate some lagging behind.
"After 4 months of slowdown, the results of June lay the foundation for the economy to enter the growth trajectory due to mobilization of investments, support for domestic producers, measures to stimulate business activity, as well as the coming active phase in the construction, road, agricultural sectors," - said Nurlan Baybazarov, stressing that this year the index of business activity is in the positive zone for the fifth month in a row.
Manufacturing industry is growing within the target indicators (by 5.1%). Among the branches of manufacturing industry, production growth was ensured in metallurgy - by 8.3%, machine building - by 9.4%, chemical industry - by 5.3%, furniture - by 28.3%, pharmaceuticals - by 14.8%. Growth was achieved as a result of improvement of measures to support domestic commodity producers. Today, the number of domestic commodity producer contracts has grown to 45,700, up from 22,700 in 2023.
Work continues to increase production of light industry, construction materials, and food products, among others.
In construction, the growth in the volume of work amounted to 8.6%, improving from 8.1% at the end of five months. During the period under review, 7.4 million square meters of housing was commissioned, which is 1% more than in the same period last year. Under the existing preferential and rental programs and new housing programs ("Otau", "Nauryz") it is expected that 54.2 thousand families will improve their housing conditions.
Special attention is paid to the issue of inflation. As a result of the implementation of 90 different measures, the rates have fallen from 14.6% in June 2023 to the current 8.4%. At the same time, the inflation rate for food products amounted to 5.4%, non-food - 7.4%. In general, the target corridor for this year is 6-8%.Investment projects to replace imported goods are being actively implemented, control of pricing, antimonopoly and foreign trade regulation continues.
A separate effect on the growth of a country's economy is the inflow of investment. In this direction, the information and communication, transportation, education and manufacturing industries show positive dynamics. For six months, 18 projects totaling KZT 151 billion were commissioned, of which KZT 122.7 billion was the share with foreign participation. As part of the systematic work of the Investment Headquarters, problematic issues on 65 investment projects worth about USD 30 bln were solved, and 57 amendments to legislation were developed, including 26 orders that have already been adopted.
In addition, the pace of works on modernization of housing and communal services, development of agro-industrial complex were considered.
