The official opening of the Kazakh culture festival Shanyraq Fest Brussels was held in Brussels, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium with the support of the Astana City Administration.
The ceremonial opening, organized in cooperation with the Diplomatic Club of Belgium, was held at one of the prestigious venues in the Belgian capital – the Cercle Royal Gaulois with the participation of representatives of the diplomatic corps, honorary consuls, and members of business and cultural circles.
The festival, running from April 8 to 11, aims to promote Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage and to strengthen humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan, Belgium, and the European Union.
In his remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belgium Roman Vassilenko highlighted the dynamic and comprehensive development of cooperation with Belgium and the EU, stating: “Cultural initiatives such as this festival contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between our societies.”
In turn, the President of the Diplomatic Club of Belgium, Ambassador Raoul Delcorde, emphasized the importance of such events for fostering intergovernmental dialogue and expanding cultural cooperation.
As part of the opening ceremony, artists of the Yerkegali Rakhmadiev State Academic Philharmonic of Astana performed. More than 40 talented Kazakh artists representing various fields of musical and performing arts arrived in Brussels to participate in the festival. The concert program featured renowned works of Kazakh national and classical world music, warmly received by the audience.
The Shanyraq Fest Brussels reflects a consistent commitment to deepening humanitarian engagement with European partners and is seen as a promising platform for further strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as expanding cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and European countries.
