The Kazakh cultural festival Shanyraq Fest Brussels officially opened in Brussels, organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belgium with support from the Astana City Administration.
The opening ceremony took place at the prestigious Cercle Royal Gaulois in partnership with the Diplomatic Club of Belgium, bringing together members of the diplomatic corps, honorary consuls, and representatives of business and cultural communities.
Held from April 8 to 11, the festival is designed to showcase Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage while strengthening humanitarian ties with Belgium and the European Union.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Roman Vassilenko, noted the steady and multifaceted growth of cooperation with Belgium and the EU, emphasizing that cultural initiatives like this help build mutual understanding between nations.
President of the Diplomatic Club of Belgium, Ambassador Raoul Delcorde, also underlined the value of such events in promoting dialogue between governments and expanding cultural collaboration.
The opening featured a performance by artists from the Yerkegali Rakhmadiev State Academic Philharmonic of Astana. More than 40 Kazakh performers from various artistic disciplines traveled to Brussels for the festival, presenting a concert program that included both traditional Kazakh pieces and classical world music, which was warmly welcomed by the audience.
Shanyraq Fest Brussels demonstrates Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to deepen cultural and humanitarian engagement with European partners and serves as an effective platform for strengthening both bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as expanding cultural exchange.
