The official opening ceremony of the National Pavilion of Kazakhstan was held in Toronto (Canada) within the framework of the PDAC-2024 international exhibition with the participation of Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapaev, Senator of the Canadian Parliament Victor Oh and First Vice President of PDAC-2024 Karen Rees.
The International Exhibition is the world's largest event for mining professionals and companies, providing a unique platform for networking and establishing partnerships in the mining sector.
Minister K. Sharlapaev stressed the strategic importance of Kazakhstan's presence at PDAC-2024, considering the country's capabilities in the mining industry. The work of the National Pavilion of Kazakhstan highlighted the country's investment attractiveness in this area and contributed to the establishment of new promising relations.
In turn, the Canadian representatives highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in various sectors of the economy, especially in the mining industry. Senator V. Oh noted the importance of strengthening investment cooperation in implementing promising projects.
Also, within the exhibition's framework, the conference "Kazakhstan Day-2024" was held, at which Minister K. Sharlapayev and representatives of such companies as JSC NGK Tau-Ken Samruk, JSC National Geological Survey, Kazakhmys Barlau LLP, and ERG spoke. At this event, Zhaksylyk Khasenov, project manager at JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" Project Department, presented the investment potential of Kazakhstan's mining and metallurgical sector to the participants.
"With significant natural resources, our country is a reliable partner for Canada in the mining and metallurgical complex. Canada's knowledge, experience, and technologies interest Kazakhstani companies," Z. Khasenov noted in his speech.
The list of projects of Kazakh-Canadian cooperation consists of 11 projects, 5 of which are in the mining industry. This indicates significant opportunities for the two countries to deepen contacts in this area further.
