The meeting between Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi was held in Tehran.
During the meeting, Alikhan Smailov conveyed greetings from the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and noted that the issue of development of Kazakhstan-Iran relations continues to occupy a special place in the agenda of our country.
"Currently, the governments of the two countries are actively working on the practical implementation of the tasks set at the highest level. I am confident that this year will be marked by new high results of our cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats," the Prime Minister said.
In particular, the first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Iranian Working Group on Agriculture is scheduled in Tehran this year, which will give an additional impetus to the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture. In addition, in order to strengthen work in the trade direction, it was decided to appoint a special trade representative to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Iran.
The parties discussed topical issues of development of trade and economic, investment and cross-border cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives in the cultural and humanitarian direction.
