JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" in collaboration with "Samruk-Kazyna" and in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a business meeting with the Qatari delegation, which arrived to discuss potential investment projects on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum. The delegation, led by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, expressed a firm commitment to further development of cooperation between Qatar and Kazakhstan. The event was attended by over 50 business representatives from both countries.

During the business meeting, participants discussed relevant issues of cooperation. Both sides expressed readiness to explore new directions of partnership and leverage the potential of joint ventures and investment projects in various sectors of the economy.

Representatives of leading Qatari companies such as "Nasser bin Nawaf & Partners Holdings," "Qatar Insurance," "Masraf Al Rayan," "Power International Holding," and others participated in the meeting. On the Kazakh side, executives of JSC ""Baiterek," "KIDF," JSC "Qazaq Gaz," and others presented reports on their company's activities.

Arman Issagaliev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar, noted that this is the largest delegation visit from Qatar in the past 30 years. According to him, the arrival of the top 10 Qatari companies in Astana should give a new impetus to economic and investment cooperation between the countries.

In his speech, Meirzhan Yussupov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," talked about various measures to support investors and investment opportunities in Kazakhstan. He highlighted that only last year, Kazakhstan attracted over $28 billion in investments, which is a record figure for the past decade.

Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," presented the company's activities, emphasizing the importance of developing economic relations between the countries.

 

Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, in turn, expressed the Qatari side's determination to actively develop cooperation with Kazakhstan, as evidenced by the extensive visit of Qatari companies interested in implementing projects in Kazakhstan. According to him, the signed documents concluded during the meeting should serve as a starting point for Qatari investors and set a positive example for other market participants.

 

At the conclusion of the business meeting, the parties signed five documents totaling $500 million:

– Memorandum of understanding on creation of joint investment funds between NMH "Baiterek", "CICC", "Power International Holding" in the field of dairy production

– Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" and "Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar" (IPA Qatar)

– Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" and "Qatari Businessmen Association"

– Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" and "Qatari Businessmen Association"

– Framework Agreement on Heads of Terms of the implementation of the project for construction of Medical Hub in Astana city between Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and "Elegancia Healthcare"
