A delegation from Canadian company Silvercorp Metals Inc. arrived in Astana, during which a meeting was held with Azamat Kozhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST.” The company was represented by its Founder and CEO, Dr. Rui Feng, a Doctor of Geological Sciences, and President Lon Shaver.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the potential for developing mining projects in Kazakhstan using international experience and modern approaches to sustainable subsoil use. The Canadian company expressed interest in geological exploration and development of promising deposits of non-ferrous and precious metals in Kazakhstan, and plans to open a local office.
Azamat Kozhanov emphasized that Kazakhstan is interested in attracting international companies with a high technological culture and experience in implementing complex projects. He also confirmed KAZAKH INVEST’s readiness to assist in identifying promising investment opportunities in the mining and metallurgy sector and to support their implementation.
Both sides expressed their interest in continuing dialogue and deepening cooperation in the framework of prospective subsoil use initiatives.
