The 8th round of political consultations between Kazakhstan and Spain took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, bringing together senior officials to discuss the further development of bilateral relations.
The Kazakh delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issetov, while the Spanish side was headed by State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs Diego Martínez.
During the talks, the parties reviewed a broad range of issues related to the Kazakhstan–Spain strategic partnership, including political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and educational cooperation. They also exchanged views on current regional and international developments and discussed collaboration within international organizations.
Special attention was given to expanding trade and investment ties. The participants noted that Spain remains one of Kazakhstan’s key economic partners within the European Union, with bilateral trade reaching 1.93 billion US dollars in 2025. Both sides expressed interest in strengthening cooperation in transport and logistics, renewable energy, agriculture, digitalization, tourism and education.
Issetov stressed that Kazakhstan views Spain as one of its most important partners in Europe and remains committed to deepening strategic cooperation based on mutual respect, trust and practical engagement.
Martínez reaffirmed Spain’s readiness to broaden cooperation with Kazakhstan and highlighted the significant potential for joint initiatives in both the economic and humanitarian sectors.
At the conclusion of the consultations, the two sides confirmed their commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations and maintaining active political dialogue.
