During the first official visit of President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides to Kazakhstan, a ceremonial opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus took place in Astana, marking a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
The embassy is Cyprus’s first diplomatic mission in Central Asia, highlighting Kazakhstan’s importance as a strategic partner in the region and opening new prospects for trade, investment and economic cooperation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev described Cyprus as a valuable partner within the European Union and noted that the new embassy would help deepen political dialogue and strengthen ties between Central Asia and the Mediterranean.
Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos emphasized the significance of establishing the country’s first diplomatic presence in the region and expressed confidence in the continued growth of cooperation between Cyprus and Kazakhstan.
