QazaqGaz, in partnership with CNPC-AktobeMunaiGas and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has entered into a subsoil use agreement for the Severnyi-1 block in the Aktobe Region.
The agreement opens the door to a full-scale geological exploration programme, as the block is considered highly перспективным for discovering new hydrocarbon reserves.
As part of the project, 2D and 3D seismic surveys will be conducted, along with the drilling of both standalone and contingent exploration wells.
Both companies have committed to carrying out all activities in strict accordance with modern environmental standards and industrial safety regulations.
