Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the Board of NC QazaqGaz JSC visited the head office of CNPC in Beijing (PRC). The heads of CNPC, TapLine, and PetroChina International attended the meeting.
The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the following areas:
· Exploration of gas assets in Kazakhstan;
· Construction of the second line of the main gas pipeline "Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent";
· Construction of a second gas processing plant at Kashagan with a processing capacity of up to 4 billion m3 per year;
· Questions about gas export to China.
Sanzhar Zharkeshov expressed his gratitude to the partners for many years of cooperation. "QazaqGaz and CNPC are strategic partners who have recently created many mega projects in Kazakhstan. I am sure that based on this success, we will be able to implement new projects on a regional scale," said the head of QazaqGaz.
In addition, the Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz visited the Research Institute of Geological Exploration and Development of CNPC. As part of the trip, Sanzhar Zharkeshov got acquainted with the center's activities and spoke about geological Exploration in Kazakhstan.
"We consider the CNPC Research Institute as our technology partner. In cooperation with CNPC, we will be able to increase the competencies of our scientific and technical center QazaqGaz STC in unconventional reservoirs, underground gas storage facilities in Kazakhstan, and the modernization of the gas transmission system," said Sanzhar Zharkeshov about the plans.
Earlier, the national company QazaqGaz announced the creation of a scientific and technical center and a focus on strengthening the research base.
