At the initiative of the Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, an extended meeting was held in Doha with all participants involved in the construction of the gas processing plant (GPP) at the Kashagan field.
Leadership from QazaqGaz, PIH (Power International Holding), KCG, and HBP discussed opportunities to expedite the GPP construction project at Kashagan. Shareholders of these contracting companies presented updates to QazaqGaz and UCC Holding (a subsidiary of Qatar's Power International Holding), reporting on the current status, challenges, and solutions aimed at accelerating the project. Notably, the transaction for UCC Holding's acquisition of a 75% stake in the GPP has been finalized, and the transition process is underway.
Operational control of the project has now been transferred to Qatar's UCC Holding, which has also appointed a new Executive Director for Capital Construction at GPC Investment LLP (the operator of the GPP project in the Atyrau region).
Additionally, the meeting addressed the acceleration and implementation of three other strategic projects: the Kashagan GPP with a capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters per year, the construction of the second phase of the Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline, and the KS-14 Aktobe-Kostanay project.
