LLP “Alsera KZ” has signed an Investment Agreement with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the implementation of a project to construct a greenhouse complex in the city of Shymkent. On behalf of the Government, the agreement was signed by the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov. The project will be implemented with the support of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST."
The goal of the project is to produce domestic agricultural products to reduce seasonal import volumes. The total investment amount is $650 million, creating 5,000 jobs. The greenhouses are expected to produce up to 175,000 tons of tomatoes annually. The project is planned to be operational by 2026, with markets in Kazakhstan, South Korea, Japan, and Russia.
The complex will produce high-quality vegetables, which is particularly important during the off-season when there are shortages and price increases in the country. Moreover, the project aims to increase agricultural product export volumes and introduce advanced technologies.
The Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, highlighted the strategic importance of the project.
"The signed agreement is not only a confirmation of mutual trust between our parties but also an example of successful public-private partnership that benefits both sides. I am confident that this project will become a bright example of effective collaboration and open new horizons for further investment attraction in Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex."
The Deputy Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST, Madiyar Sultanbek, emphasized that the project is an important step in attracting foreign investment to Kazakhstan's agricultural sector.
"The implementation of this project demonstrates the level of trust foreign investors have in our country and its investment climate. We are confident that the modern technologies to be introduced during the construction of the greenhouse complex will not only enhance the competitiveness of domestic products but also serve as an example for other investors. Under the Investment Agreement, the Turkish investor commits to building playgrounds, kindergartens, and landscaping the areas. Such initiatives are an essential part of a socially responsible approach by investors, strengthening trust in international partners and encouraging their further participation in projects within Kazakhstan."
The project is expected to stimulate the development of related industries, including logistics, product processing and packaging, as well as the creation of new supply chains. It is also important to note that the introduction of advanced technologies in the greenhouse complex will help minimize the environmental footprint and ensure high efficiency in the use of resources such as water and electricity.
