Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baybazarov held a meeting with members of the delegation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) headed by Vice President Konstantin Limitovsky.
In the course of the dialogue, the guests were informed about the current macroeconomic situation in our country, the work being done to improve the investment climate, new programs and projects in the infrastructure and manufacturing industries.
Taking into account the specifics of the Bank's business, special attention was paid to the Government's initiatives aimed at modernisation and construction of transport, energy, water and social infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
"We greatly value the prospects for further co-operation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. I would like to emphasise that Kazakhstan is entering a new investment cycle and is currently presenting a number of major projects that are interesting in terms of investment both to international financial institutions and private investors," - said Deputy Prime Minister.
In turn, Konstantin Limitovsky noted that Kazakhstan, as one of the founders of the AIIB, played a significant role in the creation and development of the bank. Recognising the huge potential for expanding cooperation, AIIB is ready to contribute to the successful implementation of the National Development Plan of Kazakhstan, as well as to support its commitment to decarbonisation to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
As part of the meeting, the AIIB and the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan signed a Declaration of Intent to jointly develop a three-year investment plan that will reflect sectors, areas and projects for possible financing.
