A factory for the production of irrigation equipment worth $20 million is planned to be opened in Kazakhstan in 2024. VODAR, the largest manufacturer of sprinkler systems in China, intends to invest in the project. The corresponding memorandum of understanding was signed during a visit to China by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerbol Karashukeev, and the CEO of VODAR, Carson Zhou.
It is expected that the enterprise will be built on the territory of the special economic zones "SezUnion". The first production line will be launched later this year. In addition, in the coming months, two demonstration sites will be installed in the Almaty and Pavlodar regions. It should be noted that the company does not require additional state support measures and is ready to work on market terms.
It should be noted that in Kazakhstan, there is an increase in the areas where water-saving technologies are being implemented, which is facilitated by investment subsidies. Within the framework of these subsidies, 50% of the farmers' costs for the purchase of modern irrigation systems and the provision of all the necessary infrastructure for water intake and supply are reimbursed. By 2030, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to bring the area of intensive irrigation to 750 thousand hectares.
During the meeting between the Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the leadership of VODAR and a representative of “NC "Kazakh Invest" JSC in China, Kuanysh Amantay, a Roadmap was also signed to give momentum to the development of bilateral relations.
It should be noted that VODAR irrigation systems are exported to 26 countries around the world, including Australia, Hungary, Mongolia, the United States, and Russia. The company is one of the world leaders in the production of water-saving technologies.
